You may visit EpiNorth’s home-page at: www.epinorth.org The homepage is bilingual, like the bulletin itself. All articles are available in full-text in Russian and English. The site is developed and maintained by the EpiNorth secretariat at the National Institute of Public Health.

In order to facilitate exchange of information over the former Iron Curtain, statistical data for a number of infectious diseases in 1999 and 2000 from the national and regional reporting systems in the target area is presented at www.epinorth.org/epi_data.html. The collection has been compiled thanks to the state epidemiologists in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, and the chief epidemiologists in the northwest Russian regions of Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Republic of Karelia, Leningrad oblast, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad, who have all made their annual data and comments available to EpiNorth. The table was also published in EpiNorth, vol2, no 2, 2001, pp 26-27. A similar presentation of vaccination data by countries and regions, Epi_Vax, is under development.

In addition, www.epinorth.org contains a collection of links related to infectious disease control and regional cooperation programmes. There is also a trial version of an on-line Russian-English and English-Russian dictionary including the names of the diseases listed in Epi_Data.

The visitor statistics shows that there has been a steady increase in the number of visits to the site since it was officially opened in September 2000. In October 2001, the number of visits was 1963.
