Vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) has been introduced into the National Childhood Immunization Programme of Norway in autumn 2009. All girls born 1997 have an opportunity for vaccination. The vaccine is given in 3 doses over 6-12 months.

As of  30 January 2010, 49% of the target group have already got the vaccine. However, it is too early to conclude regarding the final vaccination coverage, according to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. The first results will be summarized just before summer 2010.

Readers can access information brochures in Norwegian, English and Russian on the website of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
