Tick activity increases in Arkhangelsk

As of 3 May 2012 Rospotrebnadzor in Arkhalgelsk reports an increase in tick activity in the oblast. According a daily monitoring data 80 persons (of these 26 children) seeked for medical care due to tick bites.

Most of the cases were reported in the Velsky (34), Nyandomsky (16), Kotlassky (5), Shenkursky (5) districts and in the city of Kotlas (4). There were no cases of tick born encephalitis reported.

Acaricide treatment has been done in 13,5 h of the territory.
