Privacy statement

EpiNorth is a non-profit web-site funded by the European Commissions Public Health Programme, the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic institutes for infectious disease control. Re-use of information from EpiNorth is permitted for non-commercial purposes by private persons provided that EpiNorth is clearly stated as the source.

Use of the web-page

Accessing the web-page is free of charge and accessible to all. There is no need to register your name or any personal information in order to read or print articles and information. The only information we receive about you is from standard server-logs. They include your IP-address, domain name, browser type, operating system, referring site, the files you download, the pages you visit and the times and dates of the visits. By default, the system sets a cookie. This is a small amount of information sent to your browser to assign a unique identification to your PC. If you choose not to have cookies from EpiNorth, you can disable the cookie-function in the browser-settings.

Contacting us

You are welcome to contact EpiNorth by e-mail, fax, phone or letter. If you do so, your contact-details will be kept confidential and not forwarded to a third party. At present we do not send electronic news-letters or other group-information by e-mail. If such a service becomes available at a later date, only subscribers who specifically ask for it will be included on the mailing-list.

Manuscripts submitted to EpiNorth Journal

EpiNorth Journal will consider original manuscripts, not previously published elsewhere for publication in EpiNorth Journal. All manuscripts received by EpiNorth are treated confidentially while going through the editorial process. Members of the secretariat, associated editors (and referees they chose), interpreters and proof-readers of language will read the manuscript, but will not refer to it, nor reveal the identity of the author/authors to any third party until it is approved and published in EpiNorth Journal. If the submitted manuscript cannot be published, the author/authors will be notified of this by e-mail or letter from the editor-in-chief.

EpiNorth is free to make changes to its privacy-policy. If such changes should occur they will be posted here at EpiNorth's home-page.
